Using ICT accross the curriculum: During each of my placements I had multiple opportunities to develop student's digital literacies through the use of various ICT tools. This included the use of tools like; padlet, word garden and prezi to assist effective and cohesive group work. I also used PowerPoint to convey visual aids while scaffolding literary techniques in English. This also doubled as a take home resource for students who needed to revise concepts in order to complete assessment.
I had the opportunity, with my Year 11 History class, to teach students to use prezi as a group presentation tool. I was able to connect the usefulness of this tool to enabling equal contribution to the compilation of visual presentation aids. Whilst team-teaching year 8 music I introduced noteflight as a composition and arrangement tool. The use of noteflight enables students to connect sound and visual elements of composition. These opportunities highlighted the importance of explicit teaching, through the use of detailed and relevant scaffolding, of new skills. Evidence from Professional Experience reports:
