Giving feedback:Whilst completing my professional experience I developed skills in providing constructive and relevant feedback. During this time I became familiar with both ACARA's Achievement Standards and the SACE Performance Standards. I became confident with connecting ongoing assessment with feedback that reflected the assessment goals of upcoming summative tasks. I was given the opportunity to participate in moderation with senior staff members which familiarised, gave me confidence, and also showed the accuracy of my understanding of the SACE Performance Standards.
Evidence from Professional Experience reports:"Petra’s feedback on student work and her assessment against SACE performance standards that was one of her main strengths. Feedback provided on language and structural features of student’s drafts was comprehensive and allowed students to make adjustments and improvements to their work before submitting final assessment pieces. Her marking in accordance with the SACE Performance Standards was completed to a professional level.”

Below is an example of feedback given to one of my Year 11 English students for their Horror Narrative draft. The template aligns with that which was given to students to use for individual proof reading and peer assessment. This feedback was accompanied by hand written notations, on the hard copy of the draft, along with individual verbal feedback.
