To obtain a teaching position in a vibrant community oriented education setting; where excellence is encouraged through supporting students as individuals with unique strengths.
ABOUT THIS EPORTFOLIO:
This website has been designed to exemplify my growth from graduate teacher through to proficient and beyond. I intend to use this site in order to mark my ongoing progress in meeting the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) standards throughout my career. Below my current professional, employment, and volunteer experience along with any other relevant qualifications are detailed. I have also included my personal philosophy of teaching and have prepared evidence exemplifying my ability to meet the AITSL standards at a graduate level accessible through the "philosophy" and "portfolio" tabs.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
2014 – 6 week Professional Experience.
> Taught Year 8 Geography and History according to ACARA
> Taught Year 10 pre-SACE History – Russian Revolution.
> Attended and contributed to weekly prayer group meetings as organised with the school’s CPSW. This was an excellent opportunity to build relationships with students.
> Observed and assisted in Year 10 Music practical classes. This was again an excellent opportunity to practice building relationships with students who shared similar interests to myself.
2015 – 10 week Professional Experience (Extended Rural).
> Taught Year 11 Stage 1 SACE English and History.
> Taught Year 9 English according to ACARA.
> Team Taught Year 8 Music according to ACARA.
> Attended and assisted with supervision and implementation of activities on Year 10 Outdoor Ed Camp. Hiking through the Grampians with 20kg packs and Camping, Rock Climbing and Abseiling at Mt Arapiles.
> Helped to run and assisted with the Year 8 performance of I Was Only 19 by The Herd with the year 8 combined Drama and Music class.
> Assisting in rehearsals and preparation for the schools Move It performance as a part of Come Out festival.
> Attended Parent Teacher interviews and maintained email and phone contact with parents. This was an excellent opportunity to make genuine connections with the wider community.

Feb 2008 - Feb 2010: check-out operator at Coles Noarlunga.
Feb 2010 – August 2011: sales assistant at Kennedy Shoe Works Woodcroft.
Feb 2011 – October 2011: choir trainer at Myponga Primary School.
Feb 2013 - present: self-employed tutor to high-school students.
January 2014 –February 2014: temporary Au Pair in Perth to the Hearn family with three boys aged 4, 5 and 6.
September 2014 to present - Qualified Educator at Seaview Downs Primary OSHC.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:
2009-2013
Aldgate Church of Christ: Youth Leader.
> Helped to organise and run evening youth programs.
> Helped to organise and run Youth Vision Teens Camps.
> Ran small group study sessions with teens.
> Served as first aid officer on Youth Vision Teens Camps and State Youth Games.
2011
Primary School: LAP volunteer.
> Helped building basic literacies with disadvantaged children.
> Provided activities to disadvantaged children with the aim of improving self-esteem.
2011 and 2012
Encounter Youth Green Team: Team member and Team leader.
> 2011 served in recovery zone at Pt Elliot Caravan Park as a team member.
> 2012 served in “Tickets” in the Festival Zone as a team leader.
2013 and 2014
Scripture Union: Team member and team leader on Victor Harbor Scripture Union Family Mission.
> 2013 Team member in the Teens Tent. Working with teens (ages 16 to 18) running games and providing a safe haven for New Year’s Eve or otherwise a relaxed environment to escape to during their family holiday. Helped with organizing evening activities and outreach events within the greater caravan park.
> 2014 and 2015 Co-led the VHSUFM team. Responsible for age group leading the teens. Organising and implementing worship and ensuring the spiritual health of the team through prayer focus. Organising and implementing morning outreach to announce programs and encouraging daily outreach activities aimed at teens and young adults. Acted as First Aid officer and led a small group of senior first aiders. Ensured the appropriate completion of risk assessments and incident reports.

Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide.
